Farming Through Floods and Droughts: Building Climate Resilience

Cambodian farmers are on the front lines of climate change. We are seeing longer, more intense dry seasons interspersed with sudden, violent flooding events.
Adapting to the New Normal
Resilience requires a two-pronged approach:
- Protected Cultivation: Moving high-value crops into Nethouses or Polyhouses protects against sudden deluges that wash away seeds and young plants.
- Precision Irrigation: During extended droughts, water becomes scarce and expensive. IoT systems ensure that every drop is used efficiently, applying water only when soil sensors indicate it's necessary, stretching limited water resources further.
Investing in resilience is no longer optional; it's essential for long-term survival in the agricultural sector.
