Job Summary

The Sales Engineer position is a Full-Time role focusing on driving the adoption and sales of our Agri-Tech solutions. The Engineer will be the primary technical voice during the sales process, responsible for finding and engaging prospective clients (farmers, agribusinesses) and introducing our products and services. This role involves conducting technical presentations and product demonstrations (for CAM-Science, Chalat-Tube, etc.), understanding a client's specific needs, and communicating how our solutions provide tangible value. This position requires a unique blend of strong technical aptitude, compelling communication skills, and a proactive, sales-oriented mindset to build client trust and achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, qualify, and engage potential clients (farmers, agricultural cooperatives, agribusinesses) through various channels.
  • Conduct compelling and clear presentations and in-field demonstrations of Chalatex's hardware and software solutions.
  • Skillfully listen to and analyze a prospect's farming challenges and operational needs to understand their core requirements.
  • Translate complex technical product features into clear, persuasive business benefits and value propositions for the client.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, professional sales proposals, quotations, and technical documentation.
  • Manage the sales pipeline from initial contact to closing the deal, ensuring timely follow-up and effective communication.
  • Gathering client feedback and market insights to share with the technical and product development teams.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships built on trust with new and prospective clients.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • 1 year minimum of experience in a technical sales, sales engineering, field application, or client-facing technical advisory role.
  • Proven experience in successfully explaining and demonstrating technical products to non-technical or diverse audiences.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and gain essential understanding of technical products and services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Google Docs, Spreadsheet, Slides) for creating proposals and presentations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in Khmer and English. Must be a persuasive, clear, and confident presenter.
  • Naturally skilled at building good communication, empathy, and trust with a wide range of clients, from individual farmers to business owners.
  • A proactive, results-oriented, and high-energy self-starter. Motivated by achieving sales goals and building the business.
  • Ability to listen to a client's problem and creatively position Chalatex's products as the solution.
  • Can work independently and under pressure, manage a personal schedule, and organize frequent travel.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively to project sites (farms, rural areas) to meet with clients.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Direct sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience working within the Agriculture, IoT, or a related technology sector.
  • Experience using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.
  • Basic understanding of farming principles or agricultural technology.
  • Formal sales training or negotiation skills.
