Volunteer Sale Engineer
Job Summary
The Volunteer Sales Engineer role is a part-time, non-paid volunteer position designed for individuals who are passionate about Agri-Tech, smart agriculture, and community impact. The volunteer will support the promotion and adoption of Chalatex’s Agri-Tech solutions by assisting in client engagement, technical demonstrations, and awareness-building activities. In this role, the volunteer will act as a technical support voice during pre-sales and outreach activities, helping introduce solutions such as ChalatFarm, Chalat-Tube, and related smart farming technologies to farmers, agricultural groups, and partners. This position offers hands-on field exposure, practical learning, mentorship, and real-world experience in Agri-Tech sales and technology deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the identification and engagement of potential users (farmers, agricultural cooperatives, agribusinesses) during outreach and field activities.
- Assist in product presentations and in-field demonstrations of Chalatex’s hardware and software solutions.
- Help understand farmers’ challenges by observing, listening, and collecting basic needs and feedback.
- Communicate product functions and benefits in simple, farmer-friendly language.
- Assist senior team members in preparing basic sales materials, quotations, and technical explanations.
- Participate in field visits, pilot projects, exhibitions, or community demonstrations when required.
- Collect user feedback, observations, and market insights to share with the technical and product teams.
- Support relationship-building with farmers and local partners based on trust and transparency.
- Represent Chalatex professionally during community engagement and awareness activities.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
- Students or young professionals who are curious about agriculture, technology, or innovation.
- A strong willingness to learn, try new things, and grow through hands-on experience.
- Friendly and confident in communicating with people, especially farmers and community members.
- Able to speak Khmer clearly (basic English is a plus, but not required).
- Responsible, committed, and able to follow through on assigned tasks.
- Basic skills in using a smartphone and computer (Google Docs, Word, simple presentations).
Nice to Have
- Student or recent graduate in Engineering, IT, Agriculture, Business, or related fields.
- Interest in sales, entrepreneurship, or social enterprise.
- Prior volunteering, fieldwork, or community engagement experience.
- Basic understanding of farming practices or smart agriculture concepts.
- Exposure to IoT devices, mobile apps, or digital tools.
- Experience supporting events, demonstrations, or training sessions.
